McDonalds Sued For £10 Million

A while back McDonalds were sued by a 79 year old woman, Stella Liebeck, after she suffered burns from spilling a hot cup of coffee in her lap. That was back in 1992 and she was awarded $2.9 million.

Now it seems the Stella Liebeck case will be overshadowed by a man from Morgantown, Jeromy Jackson, who, along with his mother and a friend, are suing McDonalds for $10 million and all because there was cheese in a hamburger.

'Jeromy Jackson, who is in his early 20s, says he clearly ordered two Quarter Pounders without cheese at the McDonald's restaurant in Star City before heading to Clarksburg.'

Jeromy did this as he didn't want cheese on the hamburgers because he is allergic. He claims there was cheese and subsequently he had to be rushed to hospital and 'was only moments from death'.

'The lawsuit seeks damages on two counts of negligence, one count of intentional infliction of emotional distress and one count of punitive damages.'

There must be a lesson here: If you are severely allergic to something why not check it before stuffing it down your throat.
