Charley Uchea The £1000 A Night LapDancer

Charley UcheaCharley Uchea, recently dumped out of the UK Big Brother house, has been telling the story about how she used to earn £1000 ($2000) per night as a lap dancer. Charley Uchea boasts, "We'd dance for MP's, judges and dirty old men. I could earn £1000 a night there - I only used to do one stint a week as the money was so good."

So why did she leave? "I knew I was a fit, sexy girl and the punters loved me but the work was too seedy." You have to smile, wasn't she actually sacked by Peter Stringfellow? Let's hope she declared all of that money to the tax man.

Charley Uchea also said that she had to keep her lap dancing secret from her family because she knew they 'would go nuts if they found out.' There must be a few nuts in her family now then.

El Jueves Banned Cartoon of Prince Filipe

el jueves Prince Filipe cartoon You've got to laugh! If not at the cartoon at least with Spanish censorship.

A Spanish judge has ruled that an issue of the satirical magazine el jueves should in effect be banned.

Why was "el jueves' banished from the shelves? All because of the cartoon on their front page - as shown on the right. It seems you mustn't make fun of royalty in Spain. The cartoon shows Prince Felipe having sex with his wife.

As there is a government plan to hand out 2500 euros to new parents Prince Felipe, in the cartoon, says, "Just imagine if you end up pregnant. This will be the closest thing to work I’ve ever done in my life."

Spanish law states that you mustn't insult their Royal Family. If you do you could end up in clink for two years. You wouldn't think there could be such censorship in this day and age - well at least in western Europe.

The funniest thing is, however, that because they banned the cartoon from el jueves, which only has a readership of 80,000, it will instead be seen by millions, as it is hot news on the Internet.

You've got to laugh!

J.K. Rowlings Not Happy At Harry Potter Spoilers And NYT Review

JK RowlingJ.K. Rowling isn't happy! It's all the New York Times and Baltimore Sun's fault as they have reviewed the new Harry Potter book before it's sale date.

The NYT say their copy was purchased from a New York City store on Wednesday. The fuss is because the official release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is not until 0001 British Summer Time on Saturday or 2301 GMT on Friday night.

J.K. Rowling is reported as saying, "I am staggered that some American newspapers have decided to publish purported spoilers in the form of reviews in complete disregard of the wishes of literally millions of readers, particularly children."

A New York Time's spokesperson said, "Our feeling is that once a book is offered up for sale at any public, retail outlet, and we purchase a copy legally and openly, we are free to review it."

They went on to say, "We took great care not to give away the ending, nor to give away significant details about who lives and who dies."

The good news is that the book had good reviews and, of course, will sell in record numbers.

Build Muscles To get More Sex

The University of California reckon that muscular men are likely to have more sex partners than those with more normal bodies.

They have published a study they carried out in the Personality and Social Pschology Bulletin.

The men with the muscles it seems attract the girls looking for virile mates. The study author, David Frederick, says women are more attracted to brawny men, especially for an affair. For a life partner, however, women tend to pick a regular man over a mate with huge biceps - which is good news for the average man!

The findings were based on interviewing 99 male undergraduates and 141 college women.

The muscular men were twice as likely to have had more than three sex partners than the less well built types. The women were asked their preferences by looking at six different male silhouettes.

BBC Fined £50,000 Despite Konnie Huq Apology

Konnie Huq Blue Peter PresenterThe BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) have been fined £50,000 (about $100,000) for basically fiddling a phone-in competition to the Blue Peter television programme.

Almost 40,000 children telephoned the BBC show's phone line in November 06 to win a toy. There was a technical fault and, therefore, no caller could be selected. A girl in the studio was then picked out and given the correct answer and became the 'prize winner'.

When this all first came to light Konnie Huq, a Blue Peter presenter at the time, gave an on air apology. The television watchdog Ofcom still ordered the corporation to pay the £50,000.

Save Harry Potter Petition

JK Rowling on BBC TVWaterstones, the book company, have launched a Save Harry petition to 'save' Harry Potter. This is what they say:

'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is threatened to be the last book in the series, and after that there will be no more adventures for the boy wizard.

However, we believe that one should never say never, and that there's always a way back, no matter who lives or dies at the end of the book. So, please join our campaign to persuade JK Rowling to one day return to the world of Harry Potter. We want to get one million names by July 21st (the launch date for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows).'

The petition was started after JK Rowling, speaking on BBC TV, let slip that, though she had now finished all of the Harry Potter books, there may be a glimmer of hope of more to come.

JK said, "I think that Harry's story comes to quite a clear end in book seven but I have always said that I wouldn't say never. I can't say I will never write another book about that world, just because I think: 'What do I know, in 10 years' time I might want to return to it'. But I think it is unlikely."

The Modern Seven Wonders Of The World

Machu PicchuPetra JordanAn online poll has now named the new Seven Wonders of the World. These are:

Peru's Machu Picchu, the Great Wall of China, Petra in Jordan, Mexico's Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza, the Colosseum in Rome, Taj Mahal in India and Brazil's statue of Christ the Redeemer.

The modern wonders were chosed by a worldwide poll of some 100 million online users. Further information on the poll can be seen on the New 7 Wonders. The same website has now launched the nominations for the New Seven Wonders of Nature.

Some countries really went to town to get their particular 'wonder' recognised. In Jordan, for example, the Royal Family were involved and led a national campaign costing tens of thousands of dollars. There was even a Miss Petra crowned and voting kiosks where set up in the capital Amman.

In Peru they opened up computer terminals in public plazas to encourage people to vote for the ancient city of Machu Picchu.

But whatever the result, and how it was come by, they are all surely worthy winners.
