Oscar winning actress, Dame Helen Mirren, has admitted that she suffers from tokophobia - which is the morbid fear of giving birth.She puts the major blame on this from seeing a graphic film about childbirth when she was a thirteen year old girl. Helen Mirren said, "I swear it traumatised me me to this day. I haven't had children and now I can't look at anything to do with childbirth. It absolutely disgusts me."
Helen also remembers from when she was just three years old and heard her mother describing the 'horrific' birth of her sister.
Tokophobia is why Helen never had children herself.
